Hardwood flooring can last really long with good maintenance.
Keep your hardwood flooring safe from the following:

- Direct sun exposure
- Dragging furniture (lift and move furniture instead of dragging them, felt contacts are great prevenetors from scratch too)
- Water and other liquid's spills
- Harsh Cleaners (the tip is to clean regularly but not harshly)
Second Step: Regular Cleaning
For the most part, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping are all a hardwood flooring need.
- Use a rug pad underneath your rug to avoid moving and rubbing on the hard floor
- Save your carpet from direct sun exposure. Rug’s color fade much easier and faster when in direct sun. The fading process is gradual and not visible but you can see it if you compare your carpet with a brand new one.
- If it’s impossible to avoid direct sun, rotate your rug once in a while
- If your rug is in a high traffic area rotate it once in a while so the aging effect is consistent throughout the rug.
- Save your rug from mold! Mold is one of the biggest threats to your rug. If you have problems with mold in your area, life your rug regularly and let it fully dry. This also save your rug from insects that grow under rug in mold.
- Vacuuming is essential, but don't overdo it. If your vacuum is very strong and your carpet is delicate, make sure your vacuum doesn’t hurt your carpet threads.
Taking these few easy steps can help you enjoy your carpet for a long time.
